Setting up EudoraSCU and ELICOS staff will find the instructions located in the corresponding account guide: You can also use Webmail. staffmail.scu.edu.au*^ Setting up an 'away from email' (vacation) messageFor instructions of how to add an automated message when someone sends you an email click here. Remember you can add these from anywhere as long has you have an Internet connection. Sending email to staff groupsThere are email groups available to you to use to send a message out to your fellow staff members. These groups allow you to send out messages that are campus related. These groups are as follows: - All Southern Cross University/ELICOS (Coffs Campus) staff members:
coffs-staff@scu.edu.au - All TAFE staff members:
nci.chec@tafensw.edu.au - All CHSC Staff Members: send to
marie.moore@det.nsw.edu.au who will forward it to them for you.
To send to these groups, in your email software package (eg. Eudora, Microsoft Outlook) you need to type in exactly one of the above addresses in the TO: line, just like an email address. Please use these email addresses with discretion, as there have been many complaints about junk email. All emails sent to these groups must be campus or organisation related. Sending email to student groupsIf you need to send a message to the student population please email the message you would like to the CHEC Help Desk ( chec.helpdesk@scu.edu.au) and we can redirect your email to the appropriate group. All emails sent to this group must be campus or organisation related. Sending an email to a group with an attachmentThere has been a dramatic increase in the number of viruses in circulation at present, some which contain unpleasant text in subject and body of the email. The virus itself may have the ability to change details within the email, which can circumvent current virus detection methods. There have been many (well founded) complaints regarding this issue, and as a result, all messages sent to the Staff and Student email lists with attached files, will be vetted before being sent. Messages without attachments will be published regardless. You will notice that when you send an email of this nature you will get a system background email with "Your message has been forwarded to helpdesk for approval". Please Note: The CHEC Help Desk will process these emails as quickly as possible.
