What software is installed in the CHEC Computer Labs?
There is a wide range of software available in the CHEC Computer Labs:

Requests for additional or upgraded software required for any shared computer lab at CHEC can be made twice a year by staff. In May & October an email is sent to all staff reminding them of this. Software media/licence codes must be delivered to the CHECiT Help Desk. It is the requester's responsibility to test the functionality of their software in the lab environment well prior to the commencement of the teaching period.
When I am using the computers in the CHEC Labs am I protected against viruses?
All computer labs have Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection installed on the computers. The software updates virus protection regularly and automatically without user intervention.
Can I get virus protection software for home?
Southern Cross University(SCU) Staff and Students - can download it from their Intranet pages. SCU - Software*.
TAFE and Senior College Staff - can download it from their Intranet pages. DEC Intranet Page - Software*
TAFE and Senior College Students - There is currently no free antivirus software available provided by the TAFE/Senior College for home use by Senior College or TAFE students. However there a many free antivirus programs such as Microsoft Security Essentials, for more information visit the FAQ's page.
